Global Innovation Master 01/2021

Christian Buchholz · 27/08/2021

This training module is ideal for managers and employees who want to have a lasting influence on the innovative capacity of a company or their department with targeted know-how.

The certificate is “Global Innovation Master”.

This module builds on the knowledge of the “Innovation Professional” and focuses on the topics of innovation strategy, business model development, innovation culture and innovation leadership. In addition to many tools from colleagues such as Alexander Osterwalder or Gijs van Wulfen, many tools from the verrocchio Institute are also part of the training.

A prerequisite for booking the Global Innovation Master is prior attendance of the (Global) Innovation Professional (or proof of comparable knowledge), as it builds on the basics.

The contents

Topic focus: Developing a culture of innovation

How do I find the innovation carriers and innovators, promote them with freedom, track down the targets and challenges whose solution and idea generation should bring the company forward?

  • What conditions does a company need in order to develop a culture of innovation?
  • What questions need to be asked to identify the innovators in the teams?
  • What do values have to do with the culture of innovation?
  • How do you identify the innovators in the team?

Topic focus: Achieving change and raising innovation potential

Creating a culture of innovation always means a change process for the employees.

  • What do staff need to talk about to create a powerful innovation culture?
  • How can I implement the change in a structured way?
  • Which measures fit which companies?
  • 360 degree innovation: How do I set the turbo for innovation processes right?

Topic focus: Developing business models

With the help of the Blue Ocean Strategy or the Business Model Canvas, radical new business ideas can be developed that think laterally and focus on new needs.

  • How are Business Model Generation and Blue Ocean Strategy used?
  • What are benefit innovations and how can I achieve the dynamics of newly created needs.
  • What are disruptive value creation strategies?
  • How do they override existing market boundaries?

Topic Focus: Early Prototyping and Design Thinking

In the past, the rule was: “After the idea generation comes the idea evaluation and then we start with the implementation” – especially for disruptive innovations or new products in highly agile markets, this has not been true for a long time.

  • How can implementation start at the idea generation stage?
  • Why does early prototyping not succeed with silos?
  • Why do teams lose out on making plans?
  • What is Design Thinking and where can I use the approach?
  • What does your company’s “immune system” say about it?

Topic focus: Leadership and communication in innovation processes

The introduction of an innovative corporate culture requires open communication and a new leadership style that is suitable for bringing about change.

  • How does a leader behave when driving innovation?
  • How do different leadership styles affect the ability to innovate?
  • What hurdles do I need to be aware of when introducing innovation management?
  • How do I deal with the different types of worriers?
